We are meant to go beyond what we initially thought possibly. And we take immense pride when we succeed or when we learn from not meeting or surpassing those expectations.
True storytelling requires an understanding of life. That is not something that a robot or artificial intelligence is capable of. It cannot challenge. It cannot create. It cannot reflect. All it can do is a piece meal Frankenstein of a story, taking those things that other artists pioneered and spinning them to make people believe it knows what it is doing.
Writing is not for those who are unwilling to put in the effort. Writing is not for those who refuse to reflect on their experiences and take in others’ stories. Writing is not for those who cannot even take the time to learn that words are important. Words mean things. Words themselves do not create magic. It’s how we put words together, weaving them into so much more, that gives stories life. Generative AI is not capable of that.
